I was going through some old stamped samples and found this cute template for a mini scrapbook. I had these wallet sized photos lying around of my best friend’s family that would fit perfectly. I am going to see her this week and can’t wait to show her what I’ve made with the photos she gave me. She’s going to want them back.
The outside cover measures 3-1/2 x 3-1/2 inches. It is easier to use double sided printed or colored cardstock. I used the blue patterned paper from Mia’s Cottage 12×12 Cardstock Collection. One side is white so I used glue stick to adhere 2 cardstock sheets together.
The inside green cardstock insert measures 3 x 11-3/4 inches. If you accordion fold it in half and then in half again it will fit perfectly between the 2 covers. Center and adhere the orange ribbon to the inside of back cover before adhering the back cover to the green insert.
I used the tags from the cardstock collection to decorate the front cover and to highlight an inside photo. I also used white Paper Posies and pastel Flower Sequins to accent the front cover and inside sentiment.
It is a quick project. And with the ribbon tie closure, it makes a lovely gift.

I made this card using the Mia’s Cottage 12×12 Cardstock Collection form The Angel Company. The stamp set was one of many of our demonstrator gifts from TAC’s 2007 Seminar. There are several stamping ladies in this set, but this one looks like me with all the crazy curly hair. I had to dress her in my favorite summer outfit… pink T-shirt and denim capris. I stamped her in black on the white panel and colored in her body with colored pencils. I stamped her again on pink textured cardstock from Mia’s Cottage Cardstock and cut out her shirt. I stamped her once more on the blue patterned paper from Mia’s Cottage 12×12 Cardstock Collection and cut out her capris. I adhered the cut outs to the white panel with Glue Dots. They are so perfect for small areas. I adhered the mounted white panel to the card front with Pop Dots to give the card a little deminsion.
I just love this card. This little stamper is so adorable. And you can tell she is so happy because she has a stamp in her hand.

Most of my Memorial weekend was spent gardening. With the help of my kids, Bert (9 years) and Anne (4 years), we put in 2 flower beds and our vegetable garden. It was long hours, but enjoyable hours. Watching my children I couldn’t help seeing myself as a little kid learning about flowers, vegetables and marveling how a big carrot came out of a little seed. But when all that manual work was done it was nice to sit down, relax and rubber stamp.
After seeing all thoses flowers and plants I was inspired to make a “spring-y” card. So I started going through my drawers and drawers of cardstocks and papers from The Angel Company. (All right, I admit I’m a paper junky!) When I came across the Mia’s Cottage Collection I just had to use it. It was all the colors I had just been up close and personal with for the last few days… the clear blue sky, the green of new grass, the organges and pinks from all the flowers. Next, I sat down in my stamp closet (yes, I have a closet full 🙂 ) and proceeded to go through them all to find just the right set. I pulled out several really nice flower sets, but they just weren’t “right”. They didn’t complete my “Spring is in the Air” feeling. I came across “Retro Butterflies” and I knew immediately I had to use this whimsical butterfly. Then I found “changing seasons” from the set “It’s the Little Things” and it totally completed the picture. Not only did I have the clear blue sky, the green grass, pink and orange flowers I now had the fluttering butterflies and the perfect greeting. After I stamped, colored and assembled the card I still thought it needed a little more. So I got out my crystal Stickels and added some shimmer to random areas of the flowered cardstock and the stamped butterfly. It reminded me of my flowers after I had watered them with all the “sparkley” water drops collected on the petals and leaves.
I have to say I really loved the way this card turned out. I’m going to send it to my grandmother. She’s the one who taught me all that I know about gardening. She passed her green thumb to me and I want to pass it to my little ones. I think she’ll love it!
