I was trying to get some ideas for treats for my daughter’s Fall Class Party. I wanted to use my new stamp set Creepy Hollow from A Muse Studio and I came across this from the A Muse Studio artists and just had to share it with you. It is a simple, small project and fun to do. I also thought that it would be great to attach my business card to the back. I could give out this little treat as my business card during this Halloween season.
I have gotten several new Halloween sets that I hope to share with you in the next coming weeks. Most of them have been from the new holiday catalog.
If you haven’t gotten yours yet just let me know. They are FREE (unless I have to mail it to you, then it is $3 for shipping only). Call or email me ASAP!
I had to share this creepy journal that I made using a half composition notebook. I loved this victorian funeral themed paper. It is from the Midnight Dreary line from Got Moxie. I’ve discussed how to make these so often that I am not going to repeat myself. 🙂 You can always visit my previous post for detailed directions. And, if you want one for yourself but don’t want to make it yourself, you can alwasy visit my Etsy shop and purchase this one.
Fall has officially arrived! One of my favorite times of the year. 🙂 I always get so energized this time of year. I always have a long list of things to create, projects to get completed around the house and recipes to bake. I guess it is the old instinct to forage, harvest and store before winter sets in.
Halloween is just around the corner. I just LOVE Halloween! This is traditionally the weekend that I decorate for Halloween. I can’t wait to get out all those pumpkin and witch decorations. In preparation for my decorating frenzy this weekend I am posting a card that was made by the artists at A Muse Studio. I love this stamp set Toil and Trouble. It is cute and no too creepy. My Halloween style. 🙂 This set and many more are in the new Holiday Catalog from A Muse Studio. If you don’t have your copy yet just let me know – it’s FREE (only $3 for shipping if I have to mail it to you).
I wanted to share one of my latest Halloween journals that I made recently. This is an altered HALF composition notebook. I take the full size notebooks down to my local printer, Minute Print It and I have them chop a stack of composition notebooks in half. It doesn’t take them very long, just a couple of minutes. Then I take them home and make them pretty… or in this case, spooky. 🙂
This is a very easy project. Just cover the front and back covers inside and out in whatever material you prefer. I used cardstock on this one. (I have used fabric. I will have to post one of those next time.) Just cut the cardstock down to fit your size of notebook and adhere. I use one of 2 adhesives… YES paste, which is a book binding glue that is slow to dry so you have time to work with it when placing paper pieces. Or, Quick Dry Paper Glue which dries quickly and doesn’t wrinkle your paper.
I always dye the edges of the covers with coordinating Walnut Ink. It makes them look nice and neat and gives them a “finished” look. You can then embellish as you like. I used ribbon on this one and stamped the words “Nevermore” near the crows.
This process is easy. Just about anyone can do it. But is does take a bit of time. If you’d rather not make one yourself you can always visit my Etsy store to purchase it completed. Also, if you would like a particular design just email or convo me and I would be happy to make a special one just for you.

I found some awesome Halloween scrapbook paper and just had to make a few new journals. For this “Book of Potions” journal I used a full size composition notebook and covered it with the spooky cardstock and embellished it with ribbon and clear glazed the spiders.
I lined the inside covers with coordinating cardstock. So it is ready to go to be used for anything… a journal, a place to keep personal or school notes, a “recipe” book or just a Halloween decoration. You decide! 🙂 Book of Potions on Etsy.
I posted this card last year but I love it and decided to make a couple more again this year to send out to a couple of new friends. Can you tell me how I changed it slightly? I am also going to submit it into challenge #63 at Case Study. It is another cool site who offers weekly inspirational rubber stamping challenges.
The stamps and papers used to make this card where all from the retired stamp company The Angel Company.
