Wooden Bookmarks

I

I was inspired today to create some new bookmarks.  I used large craft sticks (tongue depressors) and covered them using Zip Dry Paper Glue in the Maggie Cardstock Collection from The Angel Company.  I used the Crop-a-dile to punch a hole in one end for the rhinestone brads.  They turned out super cute.

Back Pack Tags from Kandy's Keepsakes

I made these back pack tags for the boys in my daughter’s pre-school class.  They started out as laminate counter top samples.  I came across a bunch that were just going to be thrown away.  So I sat down and decided to make these…

They measure 2 x 3 inches.  I cut coordinating scrapbook paper to the proper size and adhered them with Quick Dry paper glue.  I trimmed around the corners with scissors and used a sanding block to remove any uneven edges.  I used walnut ink around each edge of the tag to give it a finished edge.  Once the walnut ink was dry I applied the star and nascar or Spiderman stickers.  I stamped each child’s name on vanilla cardstock and dragged the edges of the cardstock in red ink and adhered them to the tag.  Next I added the binder ring and lastly added the ribbon for decoration.

Red Rose Greeting Card

stamped-items-005

I made this card today using the stamp set The Renaissance* from the Angel Company.  I stamped the rose image on vanilla cardstock and colored it in with Prismacolor colored pencils.  (The absolute best colored pencils.)  Then I cut it out, layered it on patterned cardstock from K and Company.  I stamped the image once more, colored it and cut out just the rose blossom.  I adhered it with Pop Dots over the original rose to give the card some added dimension.

It’s a lovely card that can be used for a variety of occasions… birthdays, thinking of you, thank you, just because.

Reece Quote Magnet

stamped-items-002

Here is another “make and take” from The Angel Company.  It is a most simple project.  It is basically made with cardstock scraps.   The base is made using the Reece 12×12 Cardstock Collection and the Reece Cardstock.  The green base measures 3-3/8 x 4 inches and is edged with Sea Breeze Versamagic Ink.  The icy blue layer measures 2-3/4 x 3-1/2 inches.  The Reece patterned piece measures 3-7/8 x 2 inches.  (Layer and adhere according to picture.)  I stamped the image from Victorian Elements on a manila shipping tag (measuring 3-1/8 x 2-3/8 inches) using Sea Breeze Versamagic Ink.  Then I stamped the the quote from Be Happiness using Noir Palette Ink directly on top of the stamped ornamental image.  I threaded wire through the button holes and the flower and attached it to the tag using glue dots.  The tag was then adhered to the base layers.  Finally, a self-adhesive magnet strip was added to the back.

faith, IMAGINE, DREAM Journal

It has been over a week since I’ve been able to find the time to create.  😦 I’ve been itching to get into the paper, inks and glues.  Alas, I’ve had other obligations.  So this afternoon I sat down to relax and create.  This is another journal made out of half of a composition book.

I can’t get enough of these journals.  They are perfectly sized… approximately 7-1/2 x 5 inches… not too big and not too small.  They fit perfectly in your purse or backpack.  It is super easy to make.  I cut the cardstock to size and paste it to the outside and inside covers with YES paste.  I used a fine sanding block to remove any paper or glue residue from the cover’s edges once the paste has dried.  (I usually let mine set a couple of hours.)  I then dragged the edges in Charcoal Palette ink to cover any imperfections.  I wrapped the gold organdy ribbon around the cover twice and tied it in a bow.  I stamped the three words on the front cover in Noir Palette ink.  That’s it… super easy!
