I had a blast yesterday stamping with my friends and fellow TAC team members. My wonderful up-line/mentor, Marisa Alvarez, was in town yesterday. She met with me and my team member, Darcy Cooper, along with two of my dearest friends for stamping, training and encouragement. It was a wonderful day and we got so much accomplished. Our projects were Halloween themed. I will be showcasing them over the next few blog, twitter and facebook page entries.
This card was one of my projects.
I absolutely LOVE this hostess set, One of a Kind. I couldn’t resist making her into a little monster. The inside of the card says, “Happy Halloween”. I also used the spider from Happy Haunting. And added Stickles to the spider and her hair bows to make them stand out. I colored her in using Copic Caboodle markers. You just have to try these markers. I never liked to color with markers until I got my hands on these. They blend so beautifully.

I love this finished notebook. I got this plain kraft brown and red cloth notebook from our local discount store. All it said on the front cover was “notes”. I liked that it included a pen and had an elastic closure, but other than that, it was very boring. So I had to dress it up and strawberries have been on my mind lately.
Indiana is winding up its strawberry season. So my family has had them at practically every meal… on waffles in the morning, in smoothies at lunch time and strawberry shortcake for dessert. First of all, I love strawberries. They are my favorite fruit. I have the fondest childhood memories of picking and eating them from my great aunt, Audrey’s wild strawberry patch. I still haven’t been able to find berries that taste as good as hers did. I’ll just have to keep looking. 🙂 Secondly, this stamp is from the retired Stampin’ Up! set Nature’s Sketchbook. It is one of my all time favorite sets. So the read cloth on this notebook reminded me of red strawberries. I colored the berries with colored pencils, distressed the edges and mounted it to black cardstock. Then I adhered it all to the plain, store bought notebook. Hence, that is how this notebook came into creation.
It will be at the Walmart craft show this Saturday in Brownsburg, IN if you’d like to see it. Remember… if you mention my website you’ll receive a free gift.
I’m still busy making cards, notebooks, beaded jewelry, etc for Saturday’s craft show in the Brownsburg, IN Walmart. This is one of the cards I made today. I used the set Fanciful Flowers from The Angel Company. The sparkly mesh is self adhesive dry wall tape with ultra fine glitter poured over it. The photo does not catch the true “glittery essence” of the card so hopefully you will come out Saturday to see it. To reward your efforts to view this lovely card, I am going to give a free stamped gift to each person who mentions he or she has seen my website. You can’t pass up a free gift. See you then! 🙂
All supplies (except dry wall tape) are from The Angel Company.
I also made a version without the “Happy Birthday”. I thought I’d share it with you also. Its hard to say which one I like better. 🙂
I made this card today for my nephew. Technically, he’s my best friend’s son, but he calls me “Auntie”. Jonas turns five in two days. Wow!!! I can hardly believe it. I wanted to make a card using some sort of “critter”. He loved animals and bugs so I used this set from The Angel Company. It has several great animals and it was hard to choose. I settled on this hippo because of the sentiment. Unfortunately, for the life of me I can’t remember the name of this set. It was a “Stamp of the Month” set from last summer. If anyone out there in cyber-space can help me remember I’d appreciate it. Anyways… I had to use green cardstock. Everything of Jonas’ is green since his middle name is Green. The patterned cardstock is from Sands of Time 12×12 Cardstock Collection (TAC). Its one of my favorites. The card turned out so cute. I think he will like it. I know his mom will. 🙂

I was going through some old stamped samples and found this cute template for a mini scrapbook. I had these wallet sized photos lying around of my best friend’s family that would fit perfectly. I am going to see her this week and can’t wait to show her what I’ve made with the photos she gave me. She’s going to want them back.
The outside cover measures 3-1/2 x 3-1/2 inches. It is easier to use double sided printed or colored cardstock. I used the blue patterned paper from Mia’s Cottage 12×12 Cardstock Collection. One side is white so I used glue stick to adhere 2 cardstock sheets together.
The inside green cardstock insert measures 3 x 11-3/4 inches. If you accordion fold it in half and then in half again it will fit perfectly between the 2 covers. Center and adhere the orange ribbon to the inside of back cover before adhering the back cover to the green insert.
I used the tags from the cardstock collection to decorate the front cover and to highlight an inside photo. I also used white Paper Posies and pastel Flower Sequins to accent the front cover and inside sentiment.
It is a quick project. And with the ribbon tie closure, it makes a lovely gift.
