Dracula Forever Journal

I have decided that I will feature Halloween projects and finds from now till Halloween.  This is a journal I made using a large composition notebook and covering it with vampire cardstock from Martha Stewart.  I love Martha Stewart’s Halloween style and I look forward to buying her new stuff every fall.  I wish I could be on her show making these journals using her cardstock!  🙂  If anybody out there knows her and loves my stuff, give her a call and set me up!!  🙂

On to how I made the journal… As I was saying, I used a large composition notebook and covered it in cardstock.  I used Zip Dry Paper Glue to adhere the cardstock.  It is fast drying and doesn’t wrinkle your paper.  I then stamped the word forever  and tied a black ribbon onto the front cover near the spine.  The inside covers are also covered in black cardstock.  And lastly, I used walnut ink to stain all three edges of both covers to give it a finished, polished look.  It is a simple project, but it does take time and steps to complete.  If you don’t have the time but would still like the journal you can purchase this one from my Etsy shop.  This last photo is the back of the journal…

Pain in the Neck Journal

I have been in the Halloween mood.  I know, I know.  It is still August.  I just can’t help it.  I love autumn and all that comes with it… specially Halloween.  I went shopping a couple of weeks ago and found all kinds of new cardstocks from DCWV and the Martha Stewart lines.  I’ve made several cards, journals and notebooks and listed them in my Etsy store.   This one was super quick to make.  It is a blank gray, fabric covered journal that has silver accents in the fabric.  I embellished it by adding the vampire, gate, moon and tombstone diecuts from Martha Stewart.  They were self-adhesive so it made it even easier.  I thought it turned out great?  What do you think?

Vampire Notebook

The weather has cooled.  I’m back on my feet after this long summer of recuperating and this kids are back in school.  AHHH, fall is here!  I’m getting the feeling for Halloween.  To kick off  the season I created this spooky journal.  I used a mini composition notebook and covered it with cardstock by Martha Stewart Holidays printed to look like blood spatters.  I then adhered a vampire and grave stone diecut from the same Martha Stewart collection.  For a finishing touch I tied black and red ribbons around the spine.  If you don’t want to make one for yourself you can find this one listed in my Kandy’s Keepsakes Etsy site.
